Biography

Joe Tavano qualified as a CA after completing his Bachelor of Commerce Degree with Honours from McMaster University in 1998. Joe went on to become a coach and eventually a marker for the national Uniform Final Exam. As Joe continued to branch out and increase his diverse portfolio of public companies, not for profit organizations and privately owned businesses, he focused his attention on assurance and assumed the training role in the GTA for a national accounting firm. He has assisted financial analysts publish equity research in the Canadian and International market place and built financial models used by investors and investment bankers. More recently, Joe was a Senior Director, and assisted with the implementation, documentation and testing of internal controls at a major Canadian financial institution.

During his career Joe has advised many Not for Profits, from international and national organizations to small professional or social groups to condominiums and various charities. Joe has been a team captain for the Friends For Life Bike Rally, is a member of the finance committee for the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation and is the Treasurer of The Healing Cycle Foundation.
