Sports Psychology

This interactive discussion session will focus on the relationship between athlete identity and psychosocial elements of sport performance, individual athlete growth and development, and team dynamics. The session will explore how typical "sport psych" areas - confidence, anxiety, concentration, team communication, managing injury - are intertwined with an athlete's identity and sense of self, and will allow participants to listen and share their particular perspectives regarding sexual and gender diversity with respect to athlete identity, and how these may have impacted their sport experiences in various ways.
